For a few days, you become an MP. You draft a bill in committee, defend it in the plenary and then it goes to a vote, for real, in the chamber of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

What is MPS?

The Model Parliament of Slovakia (Modelový Parlament Slovenska, MPS) is a civic association that has been running parliament-style conferences for high-school students since 2021. Participants split into parties and committees, draft bills together and vote on each one in a plenary session. We send the best proposals to members of the Slovak National Council.

How it works

Parties
You join a model political party, get to know its ideology and elect its leadership with your colleagues.

Committees
In committee you tackle a real Slovak problem, from education to the environment, and draft a bill together.

Plenary
You defend the bill in debate, respond to amendments and negotiate support. Then it is put to a vote.
04
Real MPs
We send the strongest proposals to members of the National Council, who can table them in parliament.
